How is the SPL max calculated on the sound meter/multitool? Or, if you can't print the calculations, what variables are included and over what time period? Thanks.

Max level is the maximum sound level encountered during the course of the measurement. The time period begins when the meter starts and ends when it stops (regardless of whether you start it manually or automatically).
If you are using data logging, there are options to reset sound levels at intervals and/or after auto-save. In this case, the time-period for max level calculation is defined by the log interval and/or the duration set under Auto Stop Options.
