Audio File Format
When importing audio from the Music Library, SignalScope will create a local audio file into which to import the audio data.
Audio data can be saved in AIF, CAF, or WAV audio files and this option specifies which will be used on import.
Resolution (bits)
Specify the preferred resolution (in bits per sample) to use in the file created when importing audio from your Music Library.
Selecting "Same" indicates that the resolution of the original audio data should be preserved.
If "Same" is selected and SignalScope cannot confirm the resolution of the original file in the Music Library, a 24-bit resolution will be used.
Auto Calibrate Output
If the audio file contains embedded sensitivity calibration information, such as that generated by the Recorder tool, the selected channels
of the current audio output device can be automatically updated with this information, including units and sensitivity. This allows
SignalScope's analysis tools to perform calibrated measurements of the data contained within the audio file.
If no sensitivity calibration information is found in a loaded audio file, no change will be made to the units and sensitivity values of the
selected output channels, regardless of this option's setting.
Since the File Player tool allows output mixing, that is for multiple file channels to be routed to a single output device channel, the
calibration information of the last file channel for which a given output device channel is selected will be applied to that output device
channel. Note: This does not affect the level of the signal being routed to hardware output channels. It only affects the measurements
made in SignalScope's analysis tools for which the relevant output channels are selected as the signal source.
Export Options (from loaded file)
Trim to Selection
The File Player's audio overview display features a selection region that allows start and end points of the file playback to be specified.
When exporting the loaded audio file's data to another file, this option determines whether the new file should include all the audio from
the original file (Trim to Selection is off) or only the selected data (Trim to Selection is on).
Resolution (bits)
Specify the preferred resolution (in bits per sample) to use in the new file created when exporting audio from the currently loaded audio file.
Selecting "Same" indicates that the resolution of the existing audio data should be preserved.
Sample Rate Conversion
Sometimes, the sample rate in the loaded file does not match the audio hardware sample rate currently being used for playback.
Select "None" to avoide sample rate conversion by keeping the sample rate of the new file the same as the currently loaded file.
Alternately, select "Match Device" to use the audio hardware sample rate in the new audio file. In this case, maximum quality audio sample rate
conversion will automatically be applied if the loaded audio file does not match the sample rate of the current hardware device.
